(released
7/24/2007)
By Douglas Lorah
IFC and Comcast are bringing the IFC Free Film Fest to Miami's Bayfront Park from Tuesday, July 24 - Thursday, July 26. Open to the public at no cost, the tour will screen uncut versions of Raising Arizona, The Princess Bride, and Napoleon Dynamite within a high-tech outdoor mini-entertainment complex.
The event will also include: a showcase of video shorts from local Miami filmmakers; an on-site collection of new and used DVDs which will be donated to Holtz Children's Hospital; and a chance for attendees to win an HD camera.
The event will kick off each night at 6:00 PM with a host of pre-show activities, including an old-fashioned bouncing ball sing along. The films begin at sunset each night: Raising Arizona on the 24th, The Princess Bride on the July 25th, and Napoleon Dynamite on the July 26th.
At 8pm on Tuesday, opening remarks will be made by Robert Parente, the City of Miami Film Commissioner, and Patrick de Bokay, the newly appointed Director of the Miami International Film Festival.
