Miami Film Office Being Cut in Half

The Miami-Dade Office of Film & Entertainment will be holding a town hall meeting on Wednesday, July 25th between 4pm - 6pm. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed budget cuts to the film office.
The budget is going from $807,000 in 06-07 to $507,000 in 07-08 with a staff reduction from 7 people down to 3 people. The film office will then be lumped together with the Art in Public Spaces department under the Department of Cultural Affairs. The film office's marketing budget will also be cut.

Directions to the Miami Science Museum:
Just north of Coconut Grove, across from Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. From the north, take I-95 to Exit #1A/SW 25 Road, stay in the right hand lane and follow the signs to the Museum/Planetarium. From the south, follow U.S. 1 and make right just before the split with I-95. From Metrorail, exit at the Vizcaya Station and cross U.S. 1 via the pedestrian overpass.
