Miami Senior Wins Best Buy Te@ch Award

Miami High School has been presented with a $15,000 Best Buy te@ch award. Best Buy awarded 36 schools throughout the country for demonstrating innovative use of technology to improve students' classroom experience. school may use the te@ch award to purchase additional consumer electronics technology at Best Buy to extend, expand, or enhance current and future classroom curricula. In addition, each district of the 36 schools has been invited to apply for a $250,000 te@ch award that will be announced in late summer 2006.

The 2006 te@ch award winners were selected from a pool of more than 7,000 applications. That was narrowed to 60 finalists. Two Florida schools made the list: Miami Senior High and Coral Springs Elementary School.

Congratulations and good luck to Joe Underwood, teacher of television production, and Victor Lopez, principal of Miami Senior.
