JONES, DARRELL L., March 4, 1958 - January 2, 2006, passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 2, 2005 unexpectedly at the age of 47. A native Floridian, Darrell grew up in North Miami and attended North Miami Senior High. He continued on to graduate from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business. After college he returned to North Miami to work at the family business, Unique Producers Service, Inc. - motion picture equipment rentals. He first worked on the T.V. series Miami Vice for 5 years as well as many other since then including CSI Miami, South Beach and many films (Cape Fear, True Lies, Transporter....) and music videos for Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, etc. Ten years ago, he stepped into his father's shoes and took over as President and heart and soul of the company. He was well known and loved by all in the motion picture industry and had a reputation for knowing how to make the impossible, possible. During the last two hurricane seasons, he personally delivered generators to those without power on the West Coast of Florida and recently in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to power up gas stations for the public at his own expense. He was hard working, a kind and gentle man, a devoted husband and father, and a friend to anyone in need. He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Ursula Bartels Jones; his son, Daniel (his pride and joy); his father and mother, J.B. Jones, Sr. and Gertrude Jones; his 3 brothers, Richard, Cary, and J.B., Jr.; and a sister, Carol Roberts of Winter Park, FL; his in-laws, Dorotheo Bartels, Heike, Ackim and Ana, Brigette and Karli, as well as his nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 6 p.m. - 10 p.m., on Friday evening at Fred Hunter's Funeral at 2401 S. University Drive in Davie, FL, 954-989-1550. Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Pines Baptist Church (corner of Palm Ave. and Johnson St.) 800 NW 102nd Ave., Pembroke Pines, FL, with Interment Services to follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens. Those who wish to make donations in lieu of flowers for a children's fund can do so in Darrell name to FSU Foundation - College of Business, Attention: Spencer Sealy, Tallahassee, Florida.
