Film Permitting Post Hurricane Wilma
(released 10/28/2005)

The Miami-Dade County, City of Miami Beach and City of Miami Film Offices are open as of Friday, October 28, 2005. Filming permits are beginning to be issued on a limited basis, depending on the scope of production requirements. Police and Fire Departments throughout Miami-Dade County are expected to remain on alpha-bravo status in response to the State of Emergency until further notice. Until alpha-bravo is lifted, Police and Fire resources will not be available on an off-duty basis to film and television productions.

Additionally, there has been some storm damage to county and municipal infrastructure such as parks, beaches, marinas, golf courses, roads and sidewalks, and these may not be available to film productions until repairs are made. The film offices are assessing which facilities are open day by day, and productions are encouraged to contact the offices to discuss their individual needs. The Miami, Miami Beach and Miami-Dade Film Offices are committed to helping our production community restore normal production operations as soon as possible.

Film Permit applications can be filed on-line at www.filmiami.org. For additional information on filming status call Miami-Dade County - 305-375-3288; City of Miami - 305-860-3823; City of Miami Beach - 305-673-7070.
