Other Side Cinema's Vietnam film, "Night Demons"
(released 7/1/2005)

At the 2005 Crystal Reel Awards in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Night Demons was honored with the Crystal Reel Award for best short film.

This past Saturday night, Other Side Cinema's Vietnam film Night Demons was honored 3 times by the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association. The film won 2 Silver Reels for Directing and Stunts/Effects. The 14 minute film also won what the FMPTA calls "The Florida Oscar" for best short film.

Night Demons is about three American soldiers who survive an ambush and get lost in the jungles of Vietnam. The movie was primarily shot in Pasco County and deals with strong themes from post traumatic syndrome to cowardism in battle situations.

"It's impressive how well crafted this low-budget film actually is," said Film Threat reviewer Joshua Grover. "The bullet hits, the physical damage to the soldiers, and a fairly massive explosion all are pulled off with the skill of a film with ten or one hundred times its budget."

Last September, the Education Channel and Independents Film Festival recognized Night Demons by giving the film its best of fest award and adding a special screening at the historic, Tampa Theater.

"We would just like to thank everyone involved. This was a very difficult project to pull off and we are glad the folks from our home state loved it so much," said director, Vito Trabucco.

A special encore presentation of Night Demons will play at this years NolanCon 2005 on August 13th in Tampa. For future updates, please visit www.othersidecinema.com or www.crazedfanboy.com.
