By greenroom wire
The Casa Bacardi Film Festival will be held in October 2005. Deadlines for entries to this unique festival are approaching.
The Casa Bacardi, at the Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies, University of Miami, is an interactive center highlighting Cuban history and culture. The Center features: a music pavilion, a product pavilion, the Cuban Information Center, a cinema, a conference room, and exhibits. It is a unique place to appreciate and learn about Cuba's past as well as its present.
Casa Bacardi was made possible through a generous grant from the Bacardi Family Foundation.
The Casa Bacardi Film Festival seeks to highlight the plight of Cuban exiles and members of the Cuban-American community with respect to their experiences as persons affected by the Cuban Diaspora.
Specifically, the festival seeks to capture the unique experiences of these individuals via the medium of filmmaking. Ultimately, its purpose is to promote the inherent creativity of those willing to share their works and to recognize the accomplishments of those living in or influenced by the Cuban Diaspora.
