The Miami Film Festival presents GEMS 2016. The GEMS festival will run October 13-16, 2016.

Opening night event is the 2016 documentary The Rolling Stones Ole, Ole, Ole : A Trip Across South America. The band tours the South for the first time in a decade and the camera is documenting the journey. The film also captures the historic show the Stones played in Havana, Cuba. Opening night festivities include a "Rolling Stones" party with music, food, and drinks.
The Gems festival is a prelude to the Miami Film Festival 2017. The Miami Film Festival is presented by Miami Dade College.
