By Kimberly Burke
The Miami International Film Festival is now accepting submissions and deadlines are close. Building a reputation as a launching pad for Ibero-American cinema, the festival will be the 33rd occasion. Festival dates are March 4-13, 2016. The festival also includes Gems, a showcase in the fall running October 22-25, 2015 to highlight best works. The four day Gems mini-fest will be held at the MDC's Tower Theater.
The Miami International Film Festival is a product of Miami Dade College. Venues throughout the city beautiful are part of the cinematic experience as well as the campus in downtown Miami. Filmmakers are local, national and international. The cultural vibe and Miami's natural ability to throw a good party allow an out-of-area filmmaker to taste Miami like a local.
