MGLFF Premiere of Summer Storm
(released
3/27/2005)
By Douglas Lorah
The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival present Summer Storm as their Festival Gala #2 main event. The movie is showing on Wednesday, April 27th at 7:30pm at the Byron Carlyle Theatre, 500 71st Street in Miami Beach. This is the East Coast Premiere for Summer Storm.
This is a German film by Marco Kreuzpaintner. The boys and girls of a provincial Bavarian rowing club are striving for victory at the national summer camp rowing championships, but for Tobi and Achim, best friends and team leaders, this summer will leave a lasting impression. Arriving at summer camp, our provincial Bavarian heros find that their main rivals are an all-gay (very butch) team from Berlin, a fact that causes a hilarious series of unexpected challenges and situations for both sides. To say the least, Tobi and Achim will both learn more about each other and themselves than they bargained for at summer camp.
The director will attend the event and follow with a Q&A. This will then be followed by an after party at the brand new Ronald W. Shane Watersports Center at 6500 Indian Creek Drive.
Tickets for the event go on sale March 28th at http://www.mglff.com.
