State Film Commissioner Kerrigan Resigns

On Friday, July 12th, Film Florida forwarded an email from Cissy Proctor stating that the State Film Commissioner Shari Kerrigan has resigned from her post.  Below is the email.



Greetings Florida Office of Film and Entertainment Partners. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, my name is Cissy Proctor and I have taken on the role of Director of Strategic Business Development for the Department of Economic Opportunity. In this role, I will oversee the Office of Film and Entertainment and I am very excited to work with all of you to build, support, and market Florida's film and entertainment industry.

Additionally, I wanted to share with you that Shari Kerrigan has resigned her post as State Film Commissioner. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors and thank her for her service to the Department, and to the film and entertainment industry in Florida.

The Department will conduct a nationwide search for a new State Film Commissioner.  Until a new Film Commissioner is selected, we are pleased to report that Niki Welge will serve as Interim Film Commissioner. Niki has been with the Florida Office of Film and Entertainment for more than ten years, and we are confident in her knowledge and leadership during this transition. And one more thing to share, the Office of Film and Entertainment has moved into the Caldwell Building. We are now fully integrated with the Department and we are thrilled to be a part of the economic development agency in Florida. The new mailing address is below for your information.
