Commissioner Jordan Eyes Film and Television
(released 2/18/2013)

District 1 Commissioner Barbara Jordan has stated in a news release earlier this year that she has her eye on film and television production. "District 1 holds a lot of promise for television and film production," said Commissioner Jordan. The commissioner recognizes the economic impact the industry of production affords after a recent visit to the Starz network show "Magic City" set. Commissioner Jordan plans to open District 1 up focusing on the economic development that film and television production can bring to the North Miami - Dade area.

Jordan, pictured here, was in attendance at the I am Trayvon Day of Remembrance Peace Walk that was also attended by Academy Award winning actor and strong advocate for the Martin Family, Jamie Foxx.  Also speaking at the event was New England Patriots Defensive End Justin Francis who was born in Opa-Locka.
