Hollywood filmmaker Robert Townsend and NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas are seeking basketball players for roles in the upcoming film, Playin’ For Love, which begins shooting this November in Historic Overtown.

“Playin’ for Love” is part of a community film initiative that includes a movie production and student training program designed to provide local youth with a positive alternative to violence. The film is centered around an arrogant celebrated high school basketball coach who gets his life turned upside down when a Superstar Player transfers to his school and his mother tries to take over the team.
Producers of the film are seeking young males’ ages 16-23 who are able to play basketball, no acting experience is necessary. The auditions will include an NBA style basketball tryout with Isiah Thomas in the AAA facility; giving participants a chance to have the Miami Heat experience. Participants must arrive on time and in basketball gear.
