Bigfoot Entertainment has agreed in principle to acquire the Miami Film School and Palm Beach Film School as part of the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) umbrella. Bigfoot also has appointed Jim York, founder and director of the schools, as the chief operating officer of the IAFT. This partnership add Miami and Palm Beach to IAFT's roster of film schools, which includes Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Cebu, Philippines.
Through Bigfoot Entertainment, the IAFT offers students an opportunity to be a part of feature film productions, such as the recently released Deep Gold, an action-adventure film shot on location in Cebu, Philippines, which employed the help of many IAFT graduates.
IAFT is following a growing educational model by which students gain hands-on experience by working on actual films side by side with professionals.
