Ft. Lauderdale History in Films

In conjunction with the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) and the upcoming exhibit on the History of Filmaking in Fort Lauderdale, FLIFF will present a series of films, shot right here in our own backyard!

Sunday, January 27

A winter beach party right at Cinema Paradiso to celebrate the film that brought every teen to Ft. Lauderdale beaches, "Where the Boys Are" starring Connie Francis.

The "beach" party starts at 5:30pm, the film at 7pm. General Admission $10 / $5 for FLIFF and Fort Lauderdale Historical Society members and includes Hot Dogs or Hamburgers, Beer!

Monday, January 28

DeSantis Center Rob Davis host the silent classic "The Idol Maker" directed by D.W. Griffith.
$5.00 General Admission, FREE to FLIFF members

Tuesday, January 29

They will conclude with the remake of "Cape Fear" filmed in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.
$5.00 General Admission, FREE to FLIFF members
